Our Parliamentary Spokesperson is Cllr David Watts, who currently chairs the Development Control Committee on Broxtowe Borough Council. Looking forward to the next general election David says:
“The results in Broxtowe are sending out a very clear message. For the second election running Labour have come third in Broxtowe. Nick Palmer has worked hard as our MP, but he backs Gordon Browns discredited and ineffective government, he backed the illegal war in Iraq, and he backed the abolition of the 10p tax rate which left so many of the poorest people much worse off. It’s clear that Nick will not win the seat next time, and voters will have to choose between the Liberal Democrats or a Tory from Nottingham who has never lived her, applied for at least one other seat before Broxtowe, and who stood in Gedling last time round.”
David lives in Bramcote with his wife and family. He is a solicitor by profession and has been a local councillor since 1999. You can see more about David at his own web site, www.davidwatts.org.uk.
